Children and Youth Ministries
An important part of church life is the education of our children to know that Jesus is living and active within them. oUr programs are centered in scripture, tradition, and reason, The Children and Youth Ministries program brings children together each in prayer, music and developmentally appropriate curriculums that enhances their understanding of Jesus Christ.
Children's Chapel
Children from ages 3 through 2nd grade begin the Sunday Eucharist with their families and leave for chapel during the Gospel hymn, following the crucifer. Each Sunday, they learn a lesson of the Gospel, in a variety of interesting and age appropriate ways.
Adult Education
Adult Classes are held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and repeated on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Classes are led by a member of the clergy or lay member of the Cathedral. Topics are wide-ranging, and cover a variety of interests during the course of the program year. Adult Education is extended into the week with Bible Study opportunities on Tuesday mornings and evenings.
Alpha
Alpha is a 10-week practical introduction to the Christian faith designed primarliy for non-church goers and new Christians and is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a non-threatening atmosphere. It is offered as a refresher course in basic Christianity for parishioners, who often bring friends to join them.
Inquirer's Class
The Inquirer's Class is for those who either are new to the Christian Faith, new to the Episcopal Church, or both. It is also available for those who wish to renew their commitment to the Faith, or to refresh their understanding of the Episcopal Church. This class meets in the Spring for eight-week sessions which cover the basics of Christian belief and being an Episcopal (Anglican) Christian.
