Bishop Keith Ackerman

Eighth Bishop of Quincy

The Diocese of Quincy

The Diocese of Quincy includes 25 congregations and approximately 3,500 communicants.

This Diocese is an historic and tradition-oriented diocese located in the western portion of Central Illinois. The Diocese of Quincy includes a combination of smaller, rural mission parishes plus more urban parishes in some of the larger communities of Peoria, Quincy, Galesburg, Rock Island, and Moline. The Diocese of Quincy is small in size and numbers but great in commitment to Jesus Christ.

Our Bishop is The Right Reverend Keith L. Ackerman, SSC, DD - a deeply dedicated servant of the Lord and true shepherd of this missionary diocese. The Nicene Creed defines the spiritual belief of our Diocesan family.

Although we are one of the smaller Episcopal Dioceses, one can easily see, in a day's drive, church architecture from Prairie Gothic to Victorian to Contemporary, as well as Jubilee College, the site of one of the early Episcopal colleges in the west.
