Welcome to St. Paul's
As Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I hope it helps you to better know St. Paul's, and the Episcopal church.
The season of Lent is fast approaching. This year our Lenten Series will take place at noon on Wednesdays in the Cathedral's Hedberg Room. They will begin with Noonday Prayer, followed by a light soup and salad lunch and presentation by the Reverend John Chris. The program will conclude by 1:00 p.m. We are happy to welcome the Reverend John Crist of the Midwest Institute for Environmental Spirituality and a retired priest of the Diocese of Chicago. John and Mary live in McNabb, Illinois, and he is a licensed priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy. One of the offertory sentences from the Holy Eucharist says “O Lord our God, you are worthy to receive glory and honor and power; because you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. (Revelation 4:11) The very first sentence of Eucharistic Prayer B reminds us:“we give thanks to you, O God, for the goodness and love which you have made known to us in creation…..” (Book of Common Prayer, 368) But, of course, Genesis 1-2 reminds us clearly that God's creation has been given us in trust and we are called to be faithful stewards of the created order in which we live. Click here to see our Lenten Series: 2012 schedule. You are welcome to join us. The mission of St. Paul's Cathedral is to nurture, love, teach, and grow a loving community in Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. We invite you to join that community. The Very Rev. Robert A. Dedmon Dean and Rector | Ash Wednesday Services
